Supplies Needed:
1 large mixing bowl
Whisk
Rubber spatula
1 gallon freezer safe container with lid
Ice Cream Machine of your choice
Ingredients:
1 cup white sugar
1 pinch of table salt
1 1/2 tablespoons of vanilla extract (we use natural)
3 large eggs
3 cups of milk (we use whole raw goat milk)
3 cups of heavy cream (cow or goat)
Instructions:
By hand use the whisk to combine eggs and sugar together. Add in the vanilla and salt, stir, then add in the milk, and lastly add the cream. Combine well by hand. If you use a hand mixer, it will foam which is problematic in the ice cream machine! Pour mixture into prepared ice cream maker. My maker has a 30 minute timer on it which I run through twice. After 60 minutes in the ice cream machine, scoop into your freezer container, close with container lid and put in the freezer. The mixture will be more of a shake consistency. It has to set up in the freezer for a few hours. I typically leave it to set up overnight.
